Chief Schaefer lays out his philosophy as a team guy for his entire career all the way up to his current position. From candidate to active duty operators, there are many lessons learned in this one, no matter what your career is.

0:33.4	active duty. So I don't think you can destroy me. I can't if you got to kill it. You got
0:38.6	to kill my name first and then you can kill me. But welcome to the podcast. You're in
0:44.3	the team room. Please tell us a little bit about yourself because you have quite an awesome
0:49.8	upbringing. I mean you're attacked by trade but I don't want to I don't want to ruin
0:53.5	it. So go right into it Tom. Give us a little bit of balance your background. Sure.
0:59.6	So I was born in 19 odd 75. Let's say I come from I'm not a military brat. A lot of
1:09.6	a lot of people mention that they grew up at the military. But I do have a family heritage
1:16.2	and military service. My father. My father was in World War II with 101st. His first
1:23.7	action was Operation Market Garden. At uncle it was a B26 bomber pilot in World War II
1:29.1	in Korea. Retired as a colonel in the Air Force. Happy 75th birthday because he transitioned
1:35.4	when the Air Force started. My nephew's Marine Corps, my stepson's in the Navy. My wife
1:43.1	is a chief mass active duty chief mass sergeant. So that kind of propelled me is really my
1:50.1	path in life to go to military. Tag P by trade as Peach said. Did that my whole career
1:57.4	and actually leads me to kind of a funny thing being a command chief in the Air Force.
2:01.5	You would expect that have a little bit more Air Force base experience. But really I've
2:07.3	only been stationed on two Air Force bases. Toonson and Nellith. Nellith a few times. But I
2:14.6	had to learn to keep power curve for learning the true day to day functions of a large Air Force
2:21.7	base when I when I first got the job as the operations group superintendent on Nelliths
