Hi, this is Josh Marshall, and this is the Josh Marshall podcast.

Yesterday was July 6th, and that is the 6th month anniversary of the January 6th insurrection on Capitol Hill.

And a number of people made statements, you know, kind of, I'm not sure if commemorate is the right word,

but to note this date, President Biden put out a statement saying, you know, the country is shown.

We've, you know, defeated the people who would, you know, who attacked our democracy and so forth.

But what got my attention was, I think it was on the 5th on Monday, I found out something that President Trump,

ex-President Trump, as I like to call him, and former is a little too dignified somehow, had what he had said at this rally in Sarasota, Florida.

Now, there's, you know, he just, he just did two of these rallies in the last week or so.

And I think these are the last, he gave a speech, like he gave a speech at CPAC or something.

But I think this is the first time, you know, the first rallies since he left the White House.

And in Sarasota, Florida, he, he may have also said something similar in Ohio, but he basically did two things.

He basically asked, you know, hey, why aren't the, why aren't the January 6 people, why haven't they been released from prison?

Or, you know, jail, whatever, you know, they're not all in jail, they're on bail, they're being charged.

But, you know, why isn't that over?

Why are my people still in trouble for that?

And as is his want, you know, to him, it's like, oh, you know, the BLM people, nothing happened to them.

Why are things happening to my people? Now, obviously there's like a million things wrong with that.
