So there are all these famous stories in the Buddhist tradition of redemption.

Angouli Mala is one.

Angouli is a figure in the time of the Buddhist story your myth is told who was became a mass murderer

and he was born if you read this story under a robber star so his his astrological signs were not good right he was going to become a

thief and whatever but he also had a lot of carrism and power and he went to study with this great spiritual teacher and

develop these great yoga powers and so forth.

But then the other students became

disenchanted with him and there was a big falling out and he gave him

this assignment to go and you know kill a thousand people and bring back their fingers.

Something some horrible this is again a mythological story because a thousand is a mythological number you know it's not

literal but there's some way in which the spiritual life that he discovered was
