Throughout the American southwest, a young artist named Everett Ruess became a household name. There are arts festivals in his name, and you can buy posters and mugs bearing Everett's artwork. But in 1934, at age 20, Everett vanished while on a lengthy trip through the desert. In this episode I tell you about the life of Everett Ruess, and of the many mysteries he left behind.
