0:52.0	During the late 1870s, a group of Mormon pioneers settled the western slope
0:57.4	of the 14,000-foot Blanca Massif in Colorado's San Louis Valley.
1:04.0	The SLV is the world's largest Alpine Valley and it's completely surrounded by
1:07.8	mountains on all sides. The King family were among the first settlers.
1:14.6	It was there they built a 2,000 acre cattle ranch that stretched from the foot of
1:18.2	the mountains to the valley floor. The kings initially built a small cabin on
1:23.7	the land end would go on to build a much larger ranch house about five
1:27.5	miles away deeper into the valley. They were a pretty typical ranching
1:33.0	family, hardworking, god-fearing. The story of typical salt to the
1:37.8	earth types who worked long hours from sun up to sundown.
