Hey, pal. So we're recording this post-bedtime. Let's hope our kids stay asleep.

Oh, God, I hope so. I know. And I'll try not to

whisper out of habit. I'm in charge. That's something we try to remind ourselves every night when

the monitor goes off late in the evening or middle of the night, right? That we're the boss, we're the parents,

really, we're not at all. I don't have to be terrified of my children. I don't have to be,

but I am. I'm in charge. We're not in charge at all. All right, so let's get right

into it. I'm going to go ahead and read the question here before we get started.

So this is what one of our listener writes.

One area that I was hoping that someday you could address is the whole selfishness component

that is attached to anxiety.

Like I said, I'm just starting to work through the support thing.

It really bugs me when certain

events or activities are curtailed because of her perceived health issues. I know that it is very

real to her. We were going to go on a little city tour on Saturday, and we had to stop it early because

her back was hurting her. Generally speaking, I would not have been very loving or patient in the past,

but after an initial quiet in the car, I was able to pull out of it and go into the loving
