Today's guest is one of the most credentialed and widely relied upon experts in true crime.

Cheryl McCollum, known to nearly everyone in the field as Mac, is the founder and director

of the Cold Case Investigative

Research Institute, a program that has worked cases along law enforcement agencies and grieving

families across the country for two decades. She is a cold case analyst and author and a longtime

contributor to major true crime coverage, including the investigations into Natalie Holloway and Melissa Wolfenberger.

Her book, Swans Don't Swim in a Sewer, was written at the urging of Nancy Grace.

Matt coordinated the crisis response team for the 1996 Atlanta Olympics and was on the ground at Centennial Olympic Park within 45 minutes

of the bombing, personally assigned to Fallon Stubbs, daughter of bombing victim Alice Hawthorne,

once Fallon came out of surgery. Her career in victim advocacy and case analysis spans more

than four decades, beginning in 1982, when she volunteered at the

rape crisis center at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta at 17 years old, three years before

she was old enough to apply to the Police Academy. From Grady, Mack moved through the Metro

Atlanta Cold Case Crime Analyst Squad, before eventually shifting

into teaching, where in 2004, a newspaper clipping about Mary Shotwell Little, a woman who

disappeared from Atlanta's Lenox Square in 1963, led her to found the Cold Case Investigative

Research Institute out of her classroom. So I reached out to Mack to talk to her

about a specific case, the case of Chandra Levy, but it ended up being so much more. So I've broken
