The amazing Kate Casey.

Welcome back for another episode of Reality Life with Kate Casey, and today I'm going to return to a case that many of you have asked me about since I first covered it last year.

Herb Baummeister was a businessman who owned a string of successful thrift stores and lived a quiet family life in a 9,000 square foot estate

in Westfield, Indiana, called Fox Hollow Farm. The property featured horse stables at an indoor

pool with a wet bar, the picture of suburban success. Authorities believe that during the 1990s,

he lived a double life, targeting gay men at Indianapolis nightclubs,

and then luring them back to that estate, where he killed them and buried their remains around

the property. His spree seems to have come to an end in 1994, when his own 13-year-old son found a human

skull and a pile of bones in the woods on the estate.

Baumeister claimed they came from a skeleton that his late father, an anesthesiologist, had obtained in medical school. Two years later, police found thousands of human bones and bone

fragments scattered across the property. Balmeister died by suicide in 1996, he could be arrested, and for decades, the full

scope of what happened at Fox Hollow Farm remained unsolved. In February of 2025, ABC News Studios released

the Fox Hollow Murders, Playground of a serial killer, a four-part docu series that followed

Hamilton County

coroner Jeff Jellison as he reopened the case using modern DNA technology and genetic genealogy.

That series became ABC News Studios' most watched docu series on Hulu that year, based on our streamed,

and it also earned an Emmy nomination for outstanding crime and justice documentary.
