We are going to talk about one of what may be one of the big legislative issues of this year.

That is, if there is any more legislating this year, which brings us back to the question of whether or not there is going to be

any major modifications of the rules of the filibuster.

Because as long as we still have the filibuster, you have a de facto 90%

My brain is not functioning this morning. 60% 60 votes necessary to pass any legislation.

And as long as that's the case, nothing else is going to pass.

Because not only are all the main legislative items,

ones that basically, you know, more or less all Republicans oppose,

but there is a broader partisan and ideological imperative not to support anything.

To force everything either to make sure that nothing passes at all,

or make sure that things only pass with democratic votes,

which sets things up in a certain way for the 2022 midterm,

which is about 18, 18, 20 months off, 18 months off, I guess.
