Hello, friends, and welcome back to the Bikes for Death podcast. As always, my name is Patrick,

and I am your host. And on today's episode, I'm excited to be catching up with Hannah Simon.

She's just back from the Colorado Trail. And by now, I am sure you are all familiar with Hannah

and her quest to take on bikepacking's greatest challenge, the bikepacking

triple crown all within a calendar year. So far, she's completed the Tour Divide and she just

completed the Colorado Trail Race. And then next up, she'll be taking on the Arizona Trail Race 800,

starting in about a month from now. If you haven't been following along, this is actually the third installment in this series with Hannah.

She's agreed to take us along her journey as she takes on this challenge.

And so if you haven't already, I recommend you going back and listening to the first two episodes in this series.

The first one is episode 150, where we talk with Hannah just days before taking off on the

tour divide. And then the second episode is episode 155 when we catch up with Hannah after the

tour divide. But right as she's in the mix of having to quickly pivot

to get ready and trained for the Colorado Trail Race,

which is where we pick up with Hannah today.

This time we meet at Cycle East,

and that is actually where today's conversation begins

because the owner of Cycle East Russell announced just last week

that they would be closing Cycle East after 10 years in business and Hannah is the general

manager there. So today we start off today's conversation with a brief talk about what's going

on with Cycle East and also just kind of about like where

local bike shops are at large in today's cycling economy and and then of course we get

straight into bikepacking goodness talking about her Colorado Trail this year and of course
