Ultra-endurance and bikepacking legend, Jay Petervary set out on his solo and unsupported FKT attempt of the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route which he called "Great Divide Ride Unearthed". Jay first rode the Tour Divide in 2007, and he has been making waves in the bikepacking world ever

since his latest project was to ride the entire Great Divide mountain bike route that as of

2018 now starts in Jasper Canada which adds about 500 miles onto the route that we currently know is the Tor Divide that starts in Banff.

And there's a little bit of history behind the Tor Divide, the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route, and it all ties into Jay's purpose and reasoning for wanting to do this ride.

He titled it unearthed and it was a project

that he worked on for many years. He had a cool bike built and unique bike. He had fundraising

efforts surrounding it and he put a lot of time and attention into setting the fastest known
