| 0:00.0 | My name is Jody Moore. I'm with Bold New Mom and you are listening to Mappy Cliffs episode number 16. |
| 0:20.0 | Hello out there, wherever you are and whatever you might be doing. |
| 0:25.0 | I like to picture some of you maybe driving in your car, listening to this podcast and maybe some of you are making a trip to Target because you needed to get out of your house and escape for a minute. |
| 0:41.0 | So you told your husband you needed paper towels but really you're going to walk around Target for a while. |
| 0:47.0 | That's when I listen to podcasts a lot. |
| 0:51.0 | Whatever you're doing, I'm thinking of you and thank you for listening. |
| 0:56.0 | I am having one of those weeks when I've overestimated what I could get done and then a lot of other unexpected things that take my time and attention and energy have come up as well. |
| 1:13.0 | And there's that primitive side of my brain whenever that happens that really wants to stress out and to indulge in overwhelm and to feel sorry for myself and to get emotional. |
| 1:27.0 | And I do sometimes do that but for the most part I've really practiced not allowing that part of myself to take over and control me and to instead just recognize what's going on. |
| 1:42.0 | And I very rarely say to myself I don't have time. I don't have enough time. I'm too busy because to me that is not a thought that does any good for me at all. |
| 1:56.0 | The only thing it does is keep me feeling kind of like a victim and feeling bad for myself. |
| 2:02.0 | So if that's what I want to do if I want to indulge in that part of myself I can and it certainly always does exist within me somewhere but most of the time I don't really need to and so I don't. |
| 2:17.0 | Instead I just recognize that I'm starting to feel scarcity of time and that is the part of my brain that thinks it's protecting me. |
| 2:27.0 | But it's all just thinking and what I also believe is that I actually have the perfect amount of time for what I really want to do. |
| 2:37.0 | I don't tell myself that I have to do anything because I don't believe that. I don't have to take care of my kids. I don't have to make dinner. |
| 2:47.0 | I don't have to go to work. I don't have to do anything. It's always a choice. And again that just helps me show up better because I feel better. |
| 3:00.0 | I feel empowered and I feel in control. It doesn't mean that I don't do things sometimes that aren't on my number one list of things that sound fun to do. |
| 3:10.0 | Sometimes I choose to do things that aren't my favorite things to do but I don't have to do any of it. |
| 3:17.0 | So I'm getting a lot of opportunity to practice that this week. I'm trying to practice what I preach about all or nothing mentality as well. |
| 3:25.0 | And to remind myself that this podcast is such a good example. Today my doctor's appointment went long and a lot of other things came up and I thought I'm not going to get to the podcast. |
| 3:38.0 | And then I reminded myself I have the perfect amount of time to do some sort of a podcast. It doesn't have to be all or nothing. |
| 3:46.0 | I don't have to do a 30 or 45 minute podcast. I could say something really powerful in 10 or 15 minutes. |
