I first became familiar with Elizabeth Warren when she was a law professor at Harvard and

wrote a book called The Two Income Trap and really describe what was happening to the middle

class in America.

I got to work with her when I was in the White House and she helped put together the consumer

finance protection bureau and watched as she got elected to the Senate in Massachusetts.

And most Americans know her as a firebrand populist taking on the big banks in Wall Street.

What fewer people know is her own personal story, which is really compelling and helps

inform your understanding of the positions that she takes.

She just wrote a book called This Fight Is Our Fight that is in many ways biographical

and compelling for that reason.

She and I had a chance to sit down today in Washington on the eve of several momentous battles

in which she will take part to talk about her life, to talk about her views, and to

talk about where we are as a country.
