As I think back to an extraordinary 40-year period, in my mind,

I like starting with 1903, 1903, an interesting date, because in December of that year, the Wright brothers flew the first heavier than air machine for flying.

The very first airplane flew in December 1903. By the way, the flight was 120 feet long.

That's how far the very first airplane flight was.

So 1903, now how about 1943?
