We are got a lot of talk about, you know, the world seems to be, it's hard to say the world's coming apart because at what point, in a sense, in the last four years has it not been coming apart and certainly in the last for like four or five months

But it seems like things are sort of

Decompensating

degenerating in a in a inating in a kind of increasingly rapid pace over the last few weeks.

And some of that, I mean a lot of that I think is driven by the realization

that very few people can now deny that not only are we not past this, we may not even have started this yet, and

this being the COVID epidemic.

And that has created this gyre, right, a bunch of different things coming together. We have everything coming out of the George Floyd

protests that have in themselves in the immediate sense basically, sure ended but dramatically scaled back

and each of these things has also damaged President Trump's public standing, his poll numbers. And that has in

turn made him even weirder and more chaotic and so all these things are kind of

coming together and and right before we got started we briefly discussed this group of emails that I've been publishing over the last

couple days from readers. Some from California who are like in a collective like what the

fuck? Like what the fuck happened? How are we going back to this how did this

happen and going back to it being like a second a second shut down

semi yeah semi shut down I mean I think some people have made a good point. It's not really a shutdown like it was in in March and April, but it's a dramatic ramping back of where they were. And it is, it's a bit more conflicted for people in California because

obviously there's not like a Ron DeSantis you can you can you can rail

against. It's Democratic state under Democratic management.

And then we have emails from TPM readers abroad in Australia, in France,

and they are aghast and just totally perplexed. Because it's basically over there.

Now, it's not like done and done it's still happening but there's you know there's

people kids are back to school
