Hi, this is Josh Marshall, and this is the Josh Marshall Podcast. We are back with

the new episode of our podcast. I'm here with my co-host David Tainer and Kate Rika and we have a

special guest who we're gonna get into a number of topics with that that's Carrie Antollis, a friend of the site and editor and publisher of Crime Story.

A lot to talk about. We have, you know, the world continues to untether and fall apart before our

eyes. And we're going to, you know, we're going to talk about COVID, we're going to talk about the situation in Portland.

And we're going to talk about stuff with Bill Barr, Attorney General of the United States.

And so many things are happening that I'm not

sure it's totally on everybody's radar but he is going to be testifying up on

Capitol Hill next week.

And that's going, so, you know, we already,

there are already a bunch of things that,

that I guess mainly the Democrats in the House wanted to talk about but now we have even

more with this with the situation in Portland which is which is largely being driven out of the

Department of Homeland Security but I think pretty clearly with the blessing and legal guidance of the Department of Justice.

And as we may get into during this episode, The issue there is there are things, there are things about how the Department of Homeland Security was set up back in 2002 that make it an easier vehicle for doing what is now happening in

Portland. It's got a bunch of different policing agencies. They have these weird overlapping

mandates that just make it much easier than if you say, oh we're going to send in the FBI or you know

again it's it's the logical place to to do it from in any case before we go any further, let me remind you that Grady's
