Today we'll be telling the story of St. Balbina, whose feast is celebrated on March 31st.

There isn't a whole lot of information about her life. We aren't sure exactly where and when she was born,

but we do know she was martyred around the year 130 in Rome, Italy.

St. Palbina became a Christian convert along with her father who was also a martyr and

saint. St. Balbina is the patron saint of goiters and diseases of the throat.

Now it's time for our story. Don't be ridiculous Hermes. There's no such thing as an

afterlife. You should go back to worshiping the gods of Rome and forget the Christian nonsense. If you do, I will release you from this prison.

Hermes looked up at Quariness, the Roman soldier in charge of keeping him in prison and

replied, What if someone could prove to you that there's an afterlife?

Quariness laughed.

If you can do that, I myself will become a Christian.

I'm not sure I'm able, said Hermes, but I know someone who can.
