Today we'll be telling the story of St. Kacilda of Toledo,

whose feast is celebrated on April 9th.

St. Kacilda lived in Spain during the 10th century

and was the daughter of a Muslim king of Toledo. After her conversion,

St. Casilda lived a life of solitude and prayer, and it is said she lived to be 100 years old. of servants were busy washing all of the dishes. She knew exactly how to sneak by so no one would notice her.

The leftover bread from breakfast was sitting in baskets near the door to the garden.

His silda always wear the most beautiful dresses made of fine silks and linen, and the large puffy skirts

were perfect for hiding lots and lots of leftover bread. She filled up her top skirt and carefully

folded over the fabric so none would fall out and then slipped out the back door

Kassilda was making her way through the beautiful gardens of the palace when she heard someone walking behind her. Then she heard a voice call out,

Where are you going, Kistilda? It was one of her father's guards patrolling the garden. He was not usually here at this time.

She had done this many times before and had never encountered anyone.

Kistlda froze with fear. She was going to visit the Christian prisoners. She had loaded up the front

of her skirt with bread and was trying to sneak it away from the palace without getting caught.
