Welcome back to Infants on Thrones. I'm Glenn O'Sland and last month we published what was surprisingly a pretty

polarizing two-part episode with Chelsea Shields Strayer talking about her

research into the placebo effect. Now a lot of people took

issue with her cultural relativism that she wouldn't just categorically

declare that things like alternative medicine and

supernatural witchcraft beliefs are bad.

And one of those people was Matthew Vernon, who will be playing the role of Matt on today's

episode because he is. But anyway Matt recorded an essay that we published as a

standalone minisode to sort of tease what we're going to be doing here today.

And as I sit here in early October and I look at our download stats for the last month, I see that

placebo part one and part two had a little over 5,000 downloads each.

So a lot of you listen to that, but Matt's essay published a few weeks later as
