Today we'll be telling the story of St. St. St. Baldis, whose feast is celebrated on August 19th.

Not much is known about his early life and even the dates of one he lived and died aren't

exactly known.

He lived during the 9th or 10th century as a missionary in Germany.

He lived as a hermit in the forest near the city of Nuremberg and traveled into the city

to teach the Christian converts.

St. St. St. Baldis is the patron saint of Nuremberg and of cold weather.

Now it's time for our story.

The winter wind whipped across St. St. St. Baldis' face, snow covered everything and it was

so cold his eyelashes were beginning to frost.

Winter in the German forest was long and harsh but St. St. St. Baldis still made the journey

to and from the city to preach.

He braced himself against the cold and continued slowly trudging through the snow toward his

friend the cart rights home.

This kindly man and his family had always welcomed St. St. St. St. Baldis into their home
