Today we'll be telling the story of St. John Messiahs, whose feast is celebrated on September 18th.

John was born on March 2nd, 1585, in extra Madora, Spain.

His birth parents were poor farmers, and sadly, both of them died when he was four years old.

John and his sister were adopted by his uncle, who trained John as a shepherd.

While out in the field, John developed a strong devotion to the rosary and would pass the days in prayer.

John first met a Dominican friar at age 16, and that planted a seed that stayed with him.

He continued to discern God's will and path for him for many years, and at the age of 25 was offered an opportunity to go to South America.

John decided that's what God was asking him to do, so he made the long and difficult journey from Spain to Colombia.

He then traveled on foot all the way to Lima, Peru, where he stayed for the rest of his life.

In 1622, John entered the Dominican Priory of St. Mary, Magdalene.

He entered as a lay brother, and took his final boughs in 1623.

He worked as the assistant doorkeeper and lived in the geek house.

John fed over 200 people every day that came to the door of the monastery, and miraculously never ran out of food.

Many miracles were attributed to St. John Messiah, and he was also friends with another saint from Lima, Peru, St. Martin, to force.
