My poetry was with me, but he would never come out.

But then later in my earlier to mid-20s,

I would just be at a gathering.

And these verses were just burst out of me in Farsi and to my surprise no one dragged me out and

you know I said what are you doing?

And instead they were like, wow, what is that?

That speaks right to my heart or my soul. So.

Ari is the founder of Rumi With A View, dedicated to building music and poetry

bridges across war-torn and conflict-ridden borders. Her writing has appeared in The Guardian, Teen Vogue, Washington Post, and elsewhere.

She is the author of one of Paul's favorite oracle card sets with book, Rumi's Gift, and her debut novel is forthcoming in 2021.

I have studied many of the great poets, particularly mystic poets, and there is no one deeper and more diverse and even radical than Rumi.

Jalaladine Rumi, considered the greatest mystical poet of Persia, was born in Korshan, the northeast

province of Greater Iran in 1207.

When he was 12 years old, his family had to flee before the advancing Mongol hordes and settled in Turkey.

After his marriage and the death of his father, who was highly regarded as an eminent theologian and great teacher and

preacher. Rumi went through his own Enlightenment experience which blew his heart

wide open and he spent the rest of his life until he died in 1273 in an open outpouring of mystical poetry.

He was often followed by scribes who tried to capture Rumi's mystical wisdom, which some experts

say equates to as many as 2,500 mystical odes and the

mothwani which contains some 25,000 poems.
