This is the Michael Medved Show. And another great day in this greatest nation on God's Green Earth, a great day when there's

a great cabinet meeting going on involving President Trump and his chief advisors and

the members of the Trump administration. That cabinet meeting, the AP reports, that it comes at a precarious moment for talks

aimed at ending the war with Iran just days after insisting that his administration and Tehran had largely negotiated a settlement,

but with negotiations still in a state of flux.

In fact, Iran basically denies the White House's optimism about a pending memorandum of understanding.

As President Trump prepares to huddle with his top aides, President Trump is projecting confidence

that he is closing in on a deal that will open the

Strait of Hormuz and provide him a credible argument that Iran's nuclear capability

has been diminished enough to declare victory, winding down a conflict that's been

politically unpopular for Republicans.

But as things stand, Trump also risks finding closure to his war of choice.

And CNN is reporting that the White House today pushed back on Iranian state media reports about a draft of the Memorandum of Understanding,
