Breaking News, not a done deal yet, but a U.S. and Iranian

negotiators say they have reached an agreement, not a deal but an agreement. Well, why is it just

an agreement and not a deal? Because it's a 60-day memorandum of understanding, an MOU.

The memorandum of understanding would extend the ceasefire, not much of a ceasefire if you read the news,

and launch negotiations on Iran's nuclear program.

But that was the whole point was Iran's nuclear program, right?

President Trump has yet to give his final approval.

So two U.S. officials and a regional source, this is from Axios, involved in the mediation efforts,

say that Iran has also not confirmed its acceptance. So you have the prospective agreement

where neither side has said, well, we're ready to agree.

Why does it matter?

Because the signing of the memorandum of understanding

would be the most significant diplomatic breakthrough since the war started.

But a final agreement that tackles Trump's nuclear demands would still require further intense negotiations.

Quote, this is an agreement to get everybody to the table.

No wonder there's so much excitement about it.
