This is going to be a bit of a mini episode because there's actually not a lot I can say about Monophobia

that you have not heard me say about all the other stuff

because monophobia is not a special or different kind of anxiety problem it's

actually just another expression of the same problem we're always talking about.

So let's get into it.

Let's talk about what monophobia is.

Remember, we're always talking about the context

of these anxiety disorders, like panic disorder

with or without agoraphobia.

So monophobia is what we call it

when somebody develops the intense fear of being left alone.

Many times it's a fear of being left home alone,

but it doesn't have to be at home, it could be anywhere.

So somebody who has developed an intense fear

of being left alone and goes to like all kinds of great lengths

to never be left alone has become monophobic.

That is a person who has monophobia.

It is very, very common alongside panic disorder and agorophobia.

It's most common with people who develop agorphobia and it can be a bit insidious.
