Chapter six, marshmallows.

I've been thinking quite a bit lately about delayed gratification.

Perhaps it's that five day fast that I mentioned

in the last chapter, which I was doing

as I worked on the chapter you're listening to right now

and was therefore heavily anticipating

that giant rib-eye steak waiting for me

at the end of the whole thing.

Perhaps it's the fact that I'm also currently

reading through a section of the Bible,

namely the gospel of Luke that's jam-packed

with parables of delayed gratification.
