So this week is going to be all about important questions to ask HR.

Now, yes, investments are the key of it, but what other

benefits might we be leaving off the table that we don't even know about? So today's episode

all about making sure you're maximizing your benefits if you're with a new company, or you want to

make sure you're taking advantage of all the benefits that your

current company offers. So first of all, it's important to understand what you can take advantage

of that's free and make sure you're taking advantage of it. If you want it, of course. Start with

life insurance. Life insurance can be great to cover your needs of loved ones. In case something happens to you,

you want to make sure they're taking care of. Employers often don't offer much, but ask these

questions to make sure you're taking advantage of what's free and then go ahead and supplement the

rest. So here's some questions to ask surrounding life insurance.

Does the company pay for life insurance coverage or offer reduced premiums for employees?

Can I buy more life insurance through the company plan if I want to?

Is the policy portable, which means I can keep it if I leave the job?

How does the policy compare with other options that I can find on my own outside the company?

You never want to be paying for something that you don't need and you always want to be taking advantage of something that's free.

So it's about maximizing. Now, of course, if you didn't do any of these or ask any of these questions, you'd probably be absolutely fine, but that's not why you're probably listening to this.
