I am so sorry this is late and things just kept happening in terms of the research.

I just kept wanting to read one more paper.

I think I'm finally ready.

Today's episode is on FAM.

FAM is a better buffer. I mean it's not better in every circumstance, but it's better in a lot of circumstances than sodium bicarbonate.

Tham was a medication I was using when I first come to Stony Brook

and then, you know, I loved it.

It was having really wonderful effects. And then they just took it off the market and

unbeknownst to me it came back on recently a couple years ago and I didn't know

this until I was talking to my buddy and M-Krit team member Trina Augustine and she's like yeah we got it back I'm like what? And then I'm like I need to do a show on it now and all things that I don't consider myself a third level expert on.

I always want to have the backup of a guest who is smarter than me on the areas that I am

flagging on.

And for that it's always going to be pharmacokinetics and dynamics of medications.

So I wanted to get a pharmacologist on and I got a brilliant farm D. I got Patrick

Bewtershefsky on you'll hear from him shortly.

Now before we dive in I just want to mention a conference I'm going to be speaking at

and it's the Incrementum 2025 conference and this is filling the huge smack-sized hole that has existed in my heart since

smack became defunct.

These are a bunch of super enthusiastic Spanish emergency medicine folks who want to put on a conference that is similar to smack.

You know, the good speakers, the interesting lectures, beautiful place. They are holding

this in Mercia, Spain, which is outside Madrid, some of the best places in the world. It's going to be beautiful.
