Now, I want to tell you a story about when my daughter, our daughter, Karras, was four years old.

And she got the opportunity to be a part of a program at her school called Transition Kindergarten.

Now, her precious TK teacher thought that it

would be a great idea to teach all the children a song called The Farmer in the Dell. Now, this

particular song has an infinite number of verses, and I think Karras learned about nine of those

verses, and Karris loved to sing this song when we were in the minivan together, all nine verses.

For me, when it was just me and Karras, it was really cute.

And I actually enjoyed it because what Mama doesn't love to hear her little four-year-old

sing songs in the car seat.

But when other people, other family members

were added to the minivan equation. The situation went south real quick. Because you see,

Kyrrhus felt very compelled to sing all nine verses, and she had to sing them without interruption,

and no one else was allowed to join in.

And so her older brothers caught on to this scenario real quick, and they suddenly became

very interested in also singing the farmer in the dell. And so right around verse five,

they would just join her. And this would lead to like weeping and gnashing of teeth.

And we would have to start all over at the beginning. I'm like, boys, you are shooting yourself

in the foot here. This is like self-inflicted punishment. You just got to let her close the loop.

We all learned that the fastest, most efficient way to get through this

minivan moment was just let Karris finish the song, close the loop, right? There's something in

our brains that just longs to close the loop. Like if you get a lyric, a music lyric stuck in your
