This is a Salaback Church podcast.

We're in week number three of a message series called The Promise of Peace, and we're looking

at a very important subject, especially for right now in our culture, there's this longing

for peace. So much chaos in our world, so much chaos in our lives.

And we're going to talk today about the subject of how fear is attacking our peace.

But before I get there, I want to take a moment to share something that's coming up in just a few weeks with you.

On May 19th, that weekend in the church calendar globally and historically is called Pentecost

weekend. And the reason it's called Pentecost weekend, that's the weekend that we celebrate the

birth of the church and the moment when the Holy Spirit came in Acts chapter 2, Peter was preaching

a sermon. And when he did, 3,000 people made a decision to follow Jesus. They got

baptized and the church was born. And so we celebrate that day every year. And this year,

with a celebration, we're actually going to join together with thousands of churches across

California and something that's called Baptize California. And it's a great weekend because that weekend, when the church was born, people got

baptized.

And we're saying, what if the church could unify globally around baptism on this weekend to celebrate

the coming of the Holy Spirit into the lives of people and to celebrate that decision

to follow Jesus, the birth of the church.

That's a great weekend to do it.

So if you've been considering for a while that decision, or perhaps you're new to church, new to faith,

you've never gone public with your faith in Jesus, you can do that the weekend of May 19th.

It's going to be an awesome moment where literally tens of thousands

of people across California and the world, because our whole church is doing it, are going to
