Today we're talking about the New York Times interview with Elon Musk.

Tesla Stock on the day finished down 8.93% to $305.50, this compared to the NASDAQ up 0.13%.

As I said earlier this week, I am now on vacation in Northern Minnesota,

so this will probably be a little bit of a quicker episode for me.

Really tough day for Tesla stock, primarily being driven, driven I believe by the New York Times article

and interview with Elon Musk. I'm sure by now everybody has seen that article. After reading it this morning, I tweeted

quote, disappointing that an hour-long interview with Elon Musk needed to be laced with sensationalist journalism.

Next time Elon consider granting an interview with someone that doesn't care about clicks.

A couple people ask me what I thought was wrong with the New York Times article, so I'll talk about that for a second and then talk about what I actually learned from the article.

My primary issue is that the New York Times had exclusive content, they had an hour-long interview with Elon Musk, and from the sounds of it he was very open with them in this interview.

And despite having this awesome exclusive content, they chose to present only snippets of information almost entirely on negative points of the

interview. The New York Times himself said quote in the interview on Thursday Mr.

Musk alternated between laughter and tears, end quote. Unfortunately because they're

only sharing bits and pieces of the interview, we don't get to see any of the positives or any of the context around what Musk was saying. Instead of that context, even worse than only picking out the negative bits of the conversation, they decided to interlace this article with about a dozen different negative insinuations from unnamed sources that are supposedly familiar with the matter.

One such statement was even more of a stretch when discussing Elon's use of Anbian, the New York Times said,

quote, but this is worried some board members who have noted that sometimes the drug does not put Mr. Musk to sleep, but instead

contributes to late night Twitter sessions according to a person familiar

with the board's thinking." So they say someone familiar with the board's thinking claims that the board has noted that they are concerned that

Elon's use of ambient doesn't put Elon Musk to sleep but instead makes Elon go on Twitter and post weird stuff.
