You're listening to Fox News Radio. I'm Ben Dominic. It's an odd thing to be living through a time when the most important person in politics isn't a politician. They're not in the White House. They're not on Capitol Hill.

They're not a governor or senator. In fact, the most important politician in the country right

now is a non-politician. That is Elon Musk. The tech billionaire has obviously had an

enormous impact on the direction of the Republican Party and its priorities since he became a very active supporter of former President Donald Trump and decided to invest his money, time, and resources behind getting the former president reelected and beating Joe Biden.

Obviously, it was a situation that he believed to be deeply important, willing

to spend so much time and money and make himself, frankly, a far more controversial figure

in American life just because he believed that it was so important for the president to return

to the White House. I wonder myself about his motivations involved here.

One would think on the face of things that this is about the economy and about how much Joe

Biden had really taken things off the rails.

You could also make the argument that it was about free speech, consistent with the approach

that he used when he bought X.com, formerly Twitter,

and turned it into a transformative element in the media landscape in the space of just a few

months.

These things are all possible, of course.

And then there's also an underlying philosophical issue that seems to be a primary motivating factor for Musk above all else. And that's the issue of natalism. He's been a strong advocate for the idea that we need to be having more children. And he himself has pursued this as if he is some kind of Genghis Khan or something

like that, referring to the children that he's had as a legion, according to a new report

in the Wall Street Journal, and paying women as much as $15 million in lump sums and

then additional allowances in order to carry and raise

his children. How many times he's done this is unclear, but as the journal reports, it seems

to be a lot more than what is publicly known. This is all very odd and it's very weird to see someone like Musk in the American political landscape.

We really just haven't seen something like this before.
