Summary

Eduardo Garcia is a chef, entrepreneur, public speaker and passionate outdoorsman. He is a co-founder of the clean label, national food brand, Montana Mex.  In 2011, Eduardo was electrocuted by a exposed high voltage power source, where he suffered extensive, life-threatening injuries and had to have his arm amputated. Today Eduardo is the subject of the award winning feature length documentary “Charged”, and works in film, most recently on the YETI presents cooking series a Hungry Life. Joining me today is a special guest named Eduardo Garcia.

Early on this year in January, I, myself, in Vienna, were taken down to Mexico to spend a few days with friends of ours who run a company called Faradies, and they were interviewing people for this

catalog, a magazine, for their clothing brand. And it's really interesting, because what they do is

they gather about 10 or 12 people that are doing interesting things in the world, bring them all

together, do this little retreat, get them to wear their clothes, take some

photos, but also interview them along the way. And each person has to sort of share their gift.

And so there were a few incredible musicians that were there. There was a few incredible chefs

that were there. Vienna and I did a little workshop on relationships and intimacy. We got to go surfing,

which was amazing. But along the way, I ran into Eduardo. And Eduardo was a part of the retreat.

And I was really struck not only by his story, but by the character and the kind of man that he was.

Considering the level of adversity that he'd gone through, I heard his story and was just

met with someone who was always insightful, someone who, despite clearly having gone through

an immense amount of adversity and traumatic events in his life, someone who had, you know,

risen above the odds and was facing life in a way that was fulfilling. And just being around him,

I could feel that he was just a solid, incredible human being. And I really wanted to have them on the show.

So just a little bit of context, Eduardo Garcia is an American celebrity chef and the co-founder

of a company called Montana Mex, which is a Mexican food company. And he has some incredible
