The Italians are big mad.

Big mad at Jeff Bezos because he and his fiance, Lauren Sanchez, are supposed to be getting married in Venice.

And they are not happy about it.

Venice is sinking and they're like, really,

we have to have a billionaire come over and have his entire wedding. But that's not really the reason

they're upset. They're upset because they are straining all of Venice's resources and they feel

like the city is really catering to this billionaire who is spending money to have 200 people come celebrate for a couple of days

and have some honestly pretty ridiculously sounding pretty ridiculous sounding parties are having

like a pajama party at one point for the wedding festivities they've already thrown their son

some kind of foam party for his 19th birthday and so so everybody, not everybody, all the people that are upset in Venice are protesting

with signs and basically saying that if he can afford to pay for Venice for his wedding,

he should be paying more taxes.

So a lot of European resort towns like Venice, I mean, it's a historical town, of course, but it's also a very resorty, touristy town,

are facing a lot of backlash now with tourism.

That tourism has taken over the cities, making it almost impossible for the locals to find apartments

because there are so many Airbnbs.
