0:17.3 | And today we want to give you a snippet of what happened on that Friday in the lives of Jesus and those around him. |

0:31.0 | Let's begin with Judas. |
0:33.0 | Judas is one of Jesus disciples. |

0:38.0 | But on Thursday evening, Judas snuck out of the gathering with Jesus and the other disciples, for he knew that he had been called out for the actions he was about to commit. |
0:50.0 | Meanwhile, back in the Garden of Gethsemity, Jesus finished up praying while the disciples continued |
0:57.6 | to nod off, as late into the night, or rather, early into Friday morning. |
1:04.8 | And all of a sudden, Jesus and the 11 are confronted by Judas and a large crowd carrying |
1:11.4 | swords and clubs. This was a mob. This group was sent by the chief |
1:18.1 | priests and elders. Judas came up and greeted Jesus with a kiss on the cheek, but this wasn't a kiss of respect and adoration to the king. |
1:28.0 | This kiss was assigned to the soldiers of whom to arrest and carry away. |
1:35.0 | Jesus looked at Judas in the eyes and said, |
1:39.0 | Friend, do what you came to do. A soldier came up to apprehend Jesus and just as he went for the arrest a disciple lunged at this soldier with a sword and sliced off his ear. |
1:53.8 | Jesus said to that disciple, put your sword back into its place. |
1:57.8 | For all who take the sword will perish by the sword. |
2:01.1 | Do you think I can appeal to my father and he wouldn't send a legion of angels to protect me? |
2:06.3 | I could. But how then should the scriptures be fulfilled? Again, the disciples and the enemy stood there perplexed. |
2:18.5 | Jesus knew that his arrest and the coming trials were all part of the Father's will. |
2:23.0 | So he submitted to the officials. |
