Why would you be surprised when others are not willing to invest in you? And I ask you this question because so many of you are really sharp talented people, but you get in your own way. | 3:28.0 | I'm gonna go you're joining us. Let's dive in. Today I sit down with Dr. Nick Holtin and Dr. Adam Wright. Dr. Nick Holtin is an international |
| 3:38.7 | speaker, consultant, trainer, and coach, and his work focuses on helping individuals become |
| 3:44.1 | better versions of themselves through the application of cutting edge science of human |
| 3:48.8 | flourishing, a synergistic development of peak performance and overall well-being and fulfillment. He's worked with individuals, teams, businesses and organizations ranging from professional athletes to Fortune 500 executives. Dr. Adam Wright, who I also enjoyed having a great chat with, is also a high performance coach, executive coach, consultant, and educator. Collectively, both of these people's resumes read like a who's who, but most importantly, people that are grounded in just doing great research. And the reason we all connected is, they have a tremendous initiative called the Anti-Fragile Academy. And they go into deep research, but most importantly, practical application about how to make people more resilient, how to really help people in the face of hardship, and help people become more adaptable. I mean, we talk about terms like grit and resilience and all these things, but what does it really mean pragmatically? And what I really appreciate is we start just talking about the definition of unpleasantness and how do you thrive amidst unpleasantness? And I think that this is really potent because in today's world, people just wanna seek pleasure more than anything. Yet they always talk about and pay lip service to growth. That's not a reality, right? |
| 5:05.5 | A precursor to adaptability is hardship and going through things. And there's very few people that talk about this stuff in general. Let alone talk about it as practically as they do. So we're having a real conversation here. Nothing's scripted. It's three people getting together saying, hey, from a research perspective, from a pragmatism standpoint, from a real life perspective, how do we build more anti-fragility in children, in ourselves, and in the world so that people can become the best version of themselves without being a fake version of themselves? There's a lot here. This could easily be a four-hour discussion, and I urge you to go to the antifragileacademy.com to learn more. But without further ado, here is Dr. Adam Wright and Dr. Nick Holden. Welcome back to another episode of the Art of Coaching podcast. I am here with Dr. Nick Holden and Dr. Adam Wright. Gentlemen, thanks for joining me for this conversation. Thanks for having us. Excited to be here. Yeah, genuinely happy. |
