podcast and so today we're going to get right into it with Representative Chris

Stewart our guest today he's a member of Congress from Utah, a Republican, and you may have seen him on TV lately because he's on the House Intelligence Committee and has sat through hours and hours and

asked some questions at the Democratic impeachment hearings.

Congressman Stewart, thank you for joining us.

Good to be with you, Byron, the No Chit Chit-Chit-Chit-Chi show, I like that.

And by the way, you've done some of the greatest reporting that's been done out there so thank you for doing that.

Well that is very kind of you to say I really appreciate that.

So to start off with this is interesting we had five days of hearings.

And on some days we had as many as four witnesses.

Other days, just one witness.

And all of these were people that you and the others

on the committee had interviewed in secret beforehand.

So what was, I mean, what were these hearings like for a member of the committee?

Well, I mean, the of the open hearings weren't terribly surprising,

but that can't surprise most people

because as you said Byron,

we'd already been with him for hours and hours.

I mean, some of of these the closed door

sessions or the secret sessions lasted you know seven eight nine hours and we'd ask

every possible question and every variation of every possible question and you know

People would ask me after we've had these closed door sessions are there any are there any bombshells or are there any surprises and I always assured them there just
