Hello and welcome to the Byron York show. If you've listened to this

podcast very much at all, you know we don't like to do a lot of chit-chat at the beginning.

We just like to get straight into it and usually that means we get straight into it with

a guest but today we don't have one. Long story short, attempts to find a guest, get a guest ready to go,

were not entirely successful, they were an incomplete success as they used to say.

So the decision was I just need to do it myself and I

because I think there's a lot we could update on on this later the latest in the

Trump Russia affair.

The biggest news we've had now, of course,

you probably heard of it, is on Thursday evening,

President Trump issued an order giving Attorney General William Barr full and complete

power to declassify documents and information related to the origins of the Trump Russia investigation.

We know that Barr has been investigating this for a while.

We know he has appointed the U.S. attorney in Connecticut, John Durham to do it, but it's pretty clear

Bar is, shall we say, hands-on in this anyway. He has been meeting, we know with the

intelligence chiefs. We know he's kept Congress up on what's going on and now we know the president

has given him this rather enormous authority to declassify documents that he feels the public needs to know about about the origins of the Trump Russia investigation.

This is extremely important because when

Devon Nunez was chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, that is when

Republicans control the House, he tried to get a lot of stuff out of the

FBI and other parts of the bureaucracy and if it was classified it was like

pulling teeth getting some of this stuff out of it and as a matter of fact he was
