I learned one of the most powerful lessons that I've ever learned in my life when I watched Kobe Bryant do a really early morning workout. And that is the best never get bored with the basics.

We happen to live in a world and it doesn't matter where on the globe you live, but society unconsciously tells us that it's okay to skip steps.

Tells us we should always be looking for a shortcut or a hack and tells us we should constantly be chasing an in pursuit of what's new and what shiny and what's flashy.

And I'm a believer that doing those things is taking a step in the wrong direction and that is because the basics work.

You need to consistently show up in every area of your life. You know, the highest performers that I've been around, they didn't pick and choose when to be excellent or when to meet their standards.

They did it in everything. You know what one of the things I love about Alan Allen, Stan Jr. who's the guy you're going to hear from today is his energy. Now you might not have heard of this guy, but he has spent his life working with the best.

And that's like that's cool in itself, right? You know, he's basically spent his life around NBA stars. So we're talking about the likes of Kevin Durant, Steph Curry and Kobe Bryant.

And it's all very well spending time with those people, but when you have a real value to others, it's the ability to translate what you've learned from those people and talk about it in simple plane, inspiring language.
