Hi there, thanks so much for joining us for another Bite Size episode of the High Performance

0:03.6

Podcast. We fully understand that you can't always give up an hour of your time to listen

0:07.9

to the conversations we have on here. So what we do is we look back over past episodes, past

0:12.6

conversations, and we just focus in on one or two comments. And we go a little bit deeper on those

0:18.0

just for three or four minutes just to get you closer to your own version of High Performance.

0:23.7

And today we're going to wind the clock back to episode 98 of the High Performance Podcast

0:29.3

when we were joined by the incredible Chrissy Wellington. Now she is a four-time Iron Man triathlon

0:35.5

world champion. She competed despite the fact that at times she had serious illness that she had

0:41.0

to struggle through incredible injuries. She's also worked for the government, she's an author,

0:46.6

she's a really deep thinking spiritual powerful person. And you're about to hear her talk about

0:52.4

perspective. And before we hear from Chrissy, let me just share the one trick that I rely on every

which basically is a way of saying you're dying. Now it's really easy to look at that and go,

1:11.7

what a horrible negative approach to life to remind yourself that every day you're dying.

1:18.6

And in fact, I'm going to get M, M tattooed on the inside of my wrist because I want this to be

1:24.9

drummed home to me every single day. And I think for me, it's a reminder that it could end at

1:31.0

any time. So if it could end at any time, if you were to leave your life right now, that needs to

1:36.7

determine the decisions that you make. That needs to determine what you do. It needs to determine

1:43.7

what you say. It needs to determine what you think. It needs to determine the people that you choose

1:51.3

to spend your time with. And perhaps more importantly, the people that you choose not to spend

1:54.8

your time with. Memento Mori. Remember death. And I come to the end of every day. And I think to myself,

2:05.2

a, well, okay, good. Today wasn't the day. But also that's another 24 hours gone by. And I'd
