Summary

How do we adapt to this new world we live in? Do we go online? Shift strategies? Pivot and change careers? Today, Corey Beasley and I discuss what it actually looks like to evolve and innovate, and why done is better than perfect. Also in this episode: Tapping your network to gain the skills you lack The importance of defining and “knowing” your niche Starting your own business - is the reward worth the nonsense? Prototypes, software updates and constant improvement Corey is the founder of FightCampConditioning.com. He has been coaching for 20+ years and works with some of the best fighters from the UFC, Bellator, ADCC and more.  His ability to combine unconventional training methods with time tested strategies has allowed him to create fun and effective training programs for his athletes. While we’re on the topic of training programs, I’ll let you in on a secret… I was initially averse to online coaching.  But as you’ll hear in this episode, I evolved that mindset because I wanted to help more people. Having found this new avenue, Corey and I collaborated on a program called Savage & Simple. If you want to check out our 12-week plan complete with weekly training schedules, tutorials, templates and more, head to brettbartholomew.net/savageandsimple. Finally, we just finished our first apprenticeship of the summer and are getting ready for our next. that was geared towards helping fighters

that many of the worlds best have.

0:32.0

And I think that that's the important part I want you

0:33.9

to take away from this episode is nobody had a greater

0:36.9

aversion to doing things online or digital than I did.

0:40.0

I promise you, if any of you knew me 10 years ago

0:42.8

and those of you that did, you know that. I was still just hard charging.

0:46.5

I was not even open to this concept,

0:49.0

but then you start realizing there's so many people

0:51.1

out there that you can help.

0:52.3

And I found that I was hypocritical.

0:54.4

I'd say I'm a strength coach,

0:55.8

and I'm doing this to help people and all this,

0:58.0

but then I limit the amount of people I would help because I wasn't open to doing it online. I also had a lot of bias. I thought that it took more time and that you had to do this

1:06.8

and it meant that I was gonna be in front of a computer

1:08.7

all the time and I wasn't gonna be able to coach.
