What do we do during difficult times? This question has many answers and we can go in many directions. I'm going to read to you today a passage from Oprah Winfrey's book, What I Know for Sure,

which is what I just love.

It brings me back to my own steadiness.

I absolutely inside of me go yes when I read this and I have a feeling you may today too.

And there's no escaping difficult times. There is no escaping challenges, there's no escaping difficult times.

There is no escaping challenges.

There's no escaping what is going on outside of us

in the world at any time.

But this can bring you back to a sense of steadiness and peace, which we must protect at all costs.

So here it goes. During difficult times I often turn to a gospel song called Stand.

What you do when you've done all you can and it seems like it's never enough.

What you give when you've given your all and it seems like you can't make it through?

The answer lies in McLachin's simple refrain.

You just stand. That's where strength comes from, our ability to face resistance and walk through it.

It's not the people who persevere don't ever feel doubt, fear and exhaustion.
