We haven't heard a lot about colds and flu recently because we all have been so focused on

coronavirus. What has happened to those illnesses while the pandemic has been surging?

Well, that's one of the somewhat secret benefits of this pandemic. We've learned that preventive

measures can help us avoid colds and flu. This year, the flu has been virtually eliminated in the United States. I mean,

if you look at previous years, you see this huge bump in flu cases, nearly 60 million flu cases

each year in the United States. And this year, it's flat. Virtually no one got the flu. And the same is pretty

much true for colds. And although we don't know this for sure, the money is on the fact that

people are wearing masks, they're practicing social distancing, and they're being much more

careful about transmission of airborne

viruses. So if people aren't wearing masks in the future, what can they do to prevent the flu?

Because it seems like everybody's really interested in getting the COVID vaccine and people

have kind of forgotten about that flu vaccine. Well, don't forget about it because the flu vaccine is here this year and we're promoting
