although he if you look at his credentials do you think he was a physician

MD PhD but he graduated from Duke University is now serving as a director of neurodegenerative disease research

at the UCLA School of Medicine.

And interestingly, he also went to Caltech and worked at MIT, two of the best engineering schools in the world,

and has a profoundly deep and passionate interest in math, which is of course one of the most foundational basic sciences.

And he's done some incredible research.

She's probably one of the most credible and leading researchers

in Alzheimer's that I'm aware of.

And, you know, it's just, I'm just so privileged to have him to discuss some of the

the research findings he's come up with that can have a enormous impact on you so

All right. So I guess we could start with the fact that, you know, the fact that Alzheimer is the third leading cause of death in the United States and many people aren't aware of that it seems to be behind heart disease and cancer and those may flip at some point in the future but I'm

wondering if you could cut so we can set the stage and then talk into a number

of the brilliant molecular mechanisms that you've been able to identify in programs you put together to help

treat it but I'm wondering if you could set the stage for your projections as to the

impact that this disease process is going to have in the next generation or so.
