Who are these kitchen whisperers, and why did you decide to write about them? In other words,

how did the book come about? The book came about as I was washing salad greens that I bought at

the farmer's market. And I heard in my head, my publisher thinks that it sounds crazy if you have voices in your head,

so they wouldn't let me have the subtitle, cooking with the voices in your head, but I know

that we have them. And I know that they're there. So the subtitle is cooking with the wisdom

are our friends, which is very safe. But basically, I heard

the voice of a French grandmother, who I knew, saying to me, you must wash your salad greens

three times. And then I thought, I I started thinking about that and I started thinking about
