Hello and welcome to the All Out Politics podcast. I'm Harry Carr. It's been a dark week in America,

with a rally of neo-Nazis in Charlottesville, Virginia descending into violence. A car was driven into counter-protesters, killing one woman and injuring 19 others, and President Trump's reaction has done

little to unite a country that looks increasingly riven.

To work out what's going on, I'm joined by Republican commentator Stacey Hilliard Cork

and Julia Ebner, a research fellow at Global Counter- Extremism Organization ISD.

Before we go any further, let's listen back to Donald Trump's latest statement on the violence. Everybody said his statement was beautiful. If he would have made it sooner, that would

have been good. I couldn't have made it sooner because I didn't know all of the facts.

You had a group on one side that was bad and you had a group

on the other side that was also very violent. And nobody wants to say that, but I'll say

it right now. Define alt-right to me. You define it. Go ahead.

Well, I'm saying, let's go.

What about the alt left that came charging at the, as you say, the alt-right? Do they

have any semblance of guilt?
