your mind aligned with the truth of God. Let's just stop for a moment. Set aside the

cares and the responsibilities and the stresses that you know are going to be coming at you

today. And relax your mind. Rest your heart. Let yourself get into a receptive mode so

you can receive the truth that God has for you today. And friends, I would love to hear

All right, today friends, I want to ask you if you've ever had a situation where you were

really in a pickle, you found yourself really in trouble. And you knew the only way out was

likely going to be for God to deliver you. And so in the rush and the pinch of that moment,

you said something like this, oh God, if you will get me out of this, I promise you I will

do a B C D E and you've filled out your list of things that you were going to do if God got you

out of that. Does that sound familiar at all? Now, I know whether you've actually said those

words in a situation like that or not, those thoughts have likely come to your mind at the very

least. And that is a very natural human tendency. It's like we're trying to make a deal with God.

We're trying to vow to him. We will do XYZ, which we think he wants if he will do this thing

that we are feeling such pressure about. But friends, that is not the way we are to relate to our

God. That is not a wise thing to do. We're going to see that in Proverbs chapter 20 verse number 25
