| 0:00.0 | Hey there, friends. Welcome back to the morning mindset. |
| 0:05.8 | Kerry Green here. I'm glad you're along for the journey today as we seek to get our minds |
| 0:11.4 | aligned with the truth of God. And this series through Proverbs has been slowing down a little |
| 0:16.4 | bit recently because the verses that I am using each day haven't really connected well. |
| 0:22.8 | We've had individual verses that just address one topic and usually if I can find a number |
| 0:27.4 | of verses within a chapter that address the same topic, I'll deal with all of them together. |
| 0:32.4 | But man, I hope you're not feeling short-changed because these verses are packed with powerful |
| 0:37.4 | insights. I encourage you to stick around. We're going to get a lot out of today's episode |
| 0:42.7 | before we get there though. You may not be aware that I'm also a writer. I have a number |
| 0:47.4 | of books both fiction and nonfiction that you may benefit from. You can check all of that |
| 0:52.9 | out at kerrygreen.com slash books and the link is in the description for this episode. |

| 1:10.2 | not seem to go together. But as you'll see in this verse, that's the very point Solomon's |
| 1:15.8 | trying to make is they don't go together, but there are benefits in both contexts. Let's |
| 1:20.4 | read it. It says the glory of young men is their strength. But the splendor of old men |
| 1:28.1 | is their gray hair. And this is a very interesting passage because what is doing is it's contrasting |
| 1:35.3 | two stages of life. Though Solomon is using a man as an example, this could equally apply |
| 1:40.6 | to women. In that case, it might say the glory of young women is their beauty, but the |
| 1:45.4 | splendor of old women is their gray hair. You know, it could very easily say the same thing. |
| 1:50.0 | And the point that Solomon is trying to point out is that both stages of life have their |
| 1:56.6 | pluses and have their minuses. Both stages of life are equally valuable. And it's implied |
