On this episode, we have a conversation with Senator Tammy Duckworth.

I gotta say this.

I love the Parkland students, the Florida students who really pulled this together.

But you know what?

The students on the South Side of Chicago have been getting shot at and killed on a daily basis

and no one is listening to their stories and no one is listening on a national basis

and they live and die in with the world ignoring their very existence.

And then the news of me, Brittany Clinton, Sam, as always.

Now the mantra lives just happened this past weekend and it was incredible to see so many young people out in the streets.

There's been a conversation about race and the way that these young people received,

which was very different in the way that Black Organizers have been received over the past three, four years,

which is no fault of these young people. They've been on an incredible job and have used their platform and privilege to call out the different way that people have been received because of race.

You know, I think about one of the students even noted that 25% of the school where the last shooting happened was people of color.

And like you wouldn't know that from the news coverage.

Now one of my takeaways from seeing all the young people this weekend and thinking about the past four years

is to just think about like how powerful it is that a generation has been activated in this way,

that there's so many young people over the past four years that are just, they understand their power and ways they didn't before, which is incredible.

Now we mobilize people. The question is, can we organize them?

So many people invest a lot of energy into information and it's important that people have information about injustice,

1:35.0

that people have information about what could be.

1:38.0

And we also need to quit people with skills, right?
