Hi, I'm Dave.

Today's walk is starting on a sidewalk next to a busy road, but I'm actually turning off of the sidewalk now and onto a paved trail

that is alongside a lake that is behind our community. So the traffic noise that you

heard a moment ago, really not going to hear a whole lot of it as we continue on with this

10 minutes. Partly cloudy as I'm walking now, but we are expecting some pretty significant storms

rolling through the area

later this afternoon, so the weather is going to be changing pretty dramatically as we move

through the day here in Myrtle Beach. It will not be good weather to take a walk. I would not

recommend taking a walk outside in weather like that.

Not the kind of weather that I want to be caught in, although that has happened a couple of times.

In fact, I think it might have been the first year of recording this podcast. I left the house. There was a threat of rain while I was walking.

I might even have had an umbrella with me. And as I got closer to home, so I left the house,

was recording the podcast, turned around and was walking back. And then I was faced with these

really dark clouds.

I'm seeing lightning.

Hearing thunder, feeling the rain is like I need to get home pretty fast.

So thunderstorm is not a good idea to get caught in.

But sometimes walking in the rain when it's not part of a thunderstorm can actually be magical.

And I know that you may not feel that way, and I don't always feel that way.

There are times when I'm out and it starts raining, it's like, eh. But there have been walks where I've left the house

with the understanding that it could rain. In fact, probably will rain before I finish up
